Welcome to the Queer Neuropsychological Society!

Thank you for your patience while our website is under construction. Please check back often as updates are regularly added.

Welcome to QNS!

We are an organization dedicated to improving neuropsychological and other brain-health services for Queer* individuals all over the world. Though we are primarily a neuropsychological organization, we welcome providers from all allied neurological and mental health specialties interested in serving the Queer community.

Pride Holding Hands

OurVision

QNS exists to promote excellence in Queer neuropsychology via compassionate and well-informed clinical practice, research, education, mentorship, and policy advocacy.

*Queer is any identity beyond the traditional assumptions of the gender binary and heteronormativity.  This is including but not limited to: queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, demisexual, transgender, gender fluid/nonbinary/neutral/flexible/nonconforming/expansive, intersex, questioning, and other evolving identities.

Ourmission

We exist to support and celebrate Queer providers and promote excellence in the provision of neuropsychological services to Queer* individuals around the world.  We support research, advocacy, education, and consultation to increase competency in neuropsychological assessment and treatment of Queer patients and their families of origin and choice.  We recognize the complex intersectionality within the Queer community and seek to collaborate with organizations who will enrich our understanding of the obstacles facing those we serve.  We are a team, a community, and a family with vested interest in the well-being, fair treatment, and care of Queer individuals.

Helping Hands

*What is Queer?

Queer is any identity beyond the traditional assumptions of the gender binary and heteronormativity.  This is including but not limited to: queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, demisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning, gender fluid/nonbinary/neutral/flexible/nonconforming/expansive, and other evolving identities.Queerness is inclusive of all those who have felt “othered” by dominant heteronormative expectations, and it seeks to create a space in which individuality is celebrated. Queerness is fluid, dynamic, and includes a myriad of identities, all of which are valued and celebrated.
