Welcome to QNS!

We are an organization dedicated to improving neuropsychological and other brain-health services for Queer* individuals all over the world. Though we are primarily a neuropsychological organization, we welcome providers from all allied neurological and mental health specialties interested in serving the Queer community.

Now available for free to QNS members of all levels of training:

Clinical Neuropsychology Board Certification Preparation Group

Written Examination Preparation:

Want some guided help or accountability to study for boards? Our board-certified neuropsychologists hold monthly meetings to support the process and/or cover study topics of your choice.

Practice Sample Review:

Have a practice sample you want us to look over? Send it to our board-certified neuropsychologists to look it over and give you feedback.

Oral Examination Preparation:

Want practice with fact-finding, the ethics vignette, or practice sample defense? Just reach out to us to get scheduled for a fact finding with one of our board-certified neuropsychologists. These can be private (one-on-one) or, if you are open, we can invite others from the Google Group to give additional feedback and provide a learning opportunity for others.

Pride Holding Hands

OurVision

Empowering ourselves and our allies to provide affirmative neuropsychological care to all Queer people.

*Queer is any identity beyond the traditional assumptions of the gender binary and heteronormativity.  This is including but not limited to: queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, demisexual, transgender, gender fluid/nonbinary/neutral/flexible/nonconforming/expansive, intersex, questioning, and other evolving identities.

Ourmission

As an international team, community, and family, we celebrate Queer people and promote excellence in the provision of neuropsychological services to Queer patients. We endeavor to deconstruct barriers to equitable treatment, support Queer providers, and increase competency in neuropsychological assessment by promoting research, advocacy, education, mentorship, and consultation. We recognize the complex intersectionalities within the Queer community and will collaborate with other organizations who share our commitment to eliminating healthcare disparities.

Helping Hands

*What is Queer?

Queer is any identity beyond the traditional assumptions of the gender binary and heteronormativity.  This is including but not limited to: queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, demisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning, gender fluid/nonbinary/neutral/flexible/nonconforming/expansive, and other evolving identities.Although we acknowledge the historical oppressive and pejorative nature of the word “queer,” we also strongly believe in its power around which we may rally to reclaim the beauty of the term.  Queerness is inclusive of all those who have felt “othered” by dominant heteronormative expectations, and it seeks to create a space in which individuality is celebrated. Queerness is fluid, dynamic, and includes a myriad of identities, all of which are valued and celebrated.
